OLA S1 Pro v/s Ather 450X Performance

The S1 Pro has a top speed of 115 kmph whereas Ather 450x has a top speed of 80 kmph. The recent changes in throttle calibration of S1 Pro have reduced the powertrain response but it over shines and gains speed after 30 kmph. OLA S1 Pro v/s Ather 450X Riding Comfort & Handling

The Ather 450x suspension setup is on the stiffer side as compared to S1 Pro. On bumpy surfaces, the S1 Pro will give a better ride experience as compared to the other. The S1 Pro is also more spacious and wider as compared to Ather 450x. Given, the S1 Pro is bigger in every dimensions, the tall riders will definitely feel lot more comfortable on S1 Pro. The seat is much wider and 36 litres of bootspace clearly outshines Ather 450x.

OLA S1 Pro
OLA S1 Pro Issues

The OLA S1 Pro clearly outshines the Ather 450x in each and every aspect. However in reality it is just the opposite. The S1 Pro still has lot more issues which OLA needs to address it. The S1 Pro sometime goes in reverse mode without activating the mode. This is a serious issue and can be very dangerous. The S1 Pro also has quality issues and the thermal issue is still not sorted. There are many customers who face thermal issues while driving in hyper mode and scooter forcefully remains locked in normal mode till it cools down. The buggy software is still a concern.

OLA S1 Pro v/s Ather 450X Verdict

The OLA promises are more like politician but it would be interesting to see how these issues are addressed. The S1 Pro is the first product from a company which is new in automobile market whereas Ather has been around sometime. The 450x is time and tested product with good support of service network. Ather 450x is much more refined in terms of fit and finish. The switches feel and feedback are good, there is less panel gaps and is simply more reliable.

Given all the issues the current S1 Pro has, we would not recommend until the company addresses all these issues. Once these issues are solved, the S1 Pro will definitely lead the market but till then enjoy riding Ather 450x.
