Royal Enfield Himalayan needs no introduction in India. Since its launch it has been selling in numbers. It is most budget friendly Adventure touring motorcycle in the 400cc segment. Himalayan has got all the parameters which makes it a perfect touring bike. Royal Enfield recently launched Himalayan BS6 in the market. The new Himalayan gets more features and refined engine thanks to BS6 emission norms.
Design
Himalayan design has always been more adventure oriented. Bike looks robust and gives you the confidence to take it on any road surface. Despite being minimalist it still gives vibes of completeness as far as off roading is considered. The tall handle bar, comfortable riding position allows you to ride long distance comfortably. 800mm seat height is suitable for tall as well as short riders. It also gets adventure oriented Foot pegs and big spoke wheels.
Specifications
Royal Enfield Himalayan BS6 gets Single Cylinder, 4 stroke 411 cc Air cooled engine producing 24.3 bhp @ 6500 rpm and torque of 32 Nm @ 4000-4500 rpm. It gets electronic fuel injection and comes with 5-speed gearbox.
The new Himalayan 2020 gets 41mm Telescopic with 200mm travel and the rear it gets monoshock having 180mm travel. The Front Disc brake is 300mm 2 piston caliper and at the rear its 240mm single caliper. With BS6 norms, now Himalayan gets Dual Channel ABS as standard. The ABS can be switched to single channel during off-road adventures. The instrument cluster is semi digital showing trip meter, distance to fuel empty etc and comes with Electric start.
Himalayan BS6 continues to get halogen headlamps and tail lamps though LED could have been better. The tank capacity is 15 litres giving a range of more than 430 km on a full tank.
