Ken Block is a renown name in the world of Motorsport. The famous rally car driver, Ken took the world by storm with his 2014, Gymkhana 7 video where he was seen driving custom built AWD Mustang on the streets of Los Angeles. In this article, we’ve got you each and every information that you need to know about this custom built 65 Mustang. The car is designed by Ken, Vaughn Gittin Jr and his RTR tuning brand. Ken and his team took Ford 65 Mustang and transformed into ultimate, high performance machine.
The crazy looking Mustang gets tubular chassis, roll cage and door bars. Though technically it looks like the Mustang but from the inside, it’s whole together a brilliant piece of engineering. Ken and his team call this Mustang as a ‘Hoonicorn’ and is built based on NASCAR specs.
The Hoonicorn v1 is powered by Roush Yates, 410 cubic inch Ford V8 engine. The engine generates 845 hp and torque of 976.18 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The monstrous engine is mated to state of the art all-wheel drive transmission. The instant delivery of torque at just 6500 rpm allows the car to burn the rubber like anything. The blower mounted on the hood pumps more air into the engine which in turn generates more power.

The Ken Block’s Mustang Hoonicorn also gets an ASD Motorsport designed custom front and rear suspension allowing it to perform heavy cornering and Ricaro sport seats for better comfort. Needless to say, it comes with Disc brakes with big custom built, gold 18″ x 10.5″ wheels and tyre of size 295/30/18. The carbon fiber body keeps the overall weightless.
With an insane amount of power and torque, the Hoonicorn leaves its marks on the streets of Los Angeles to remember. The AWD Hoonicorn became a global attraction after Gymkhana 7 and went on to appear on an episode of Top Gear. The Gymkhana 7 video has over 52M views making it one of the most watch videos in the history of Motorsport.
