Ken Block is a renown name in the world of Motorsport. The famous rally car driver, Ken took the world by storm with his 2014, Gymkhana 7 video where he was seen driving custom built AWD Mustang on the streets of Los Angeles. This time Ken’s team took an old 1977 F150 and turn it into a probably best performance truck in history. Ford F150 was always close to Ken since his father used to drive in old days. It was also the first truck in which Ken learn driving.

Coming to its heart, the Hoonitruck is powered by a Ford sourced 3.5 litre, 6 cylinder eco boost engine with twin turbo producing a whooping 914 hp at 7400 rpm and 951 Nm of torque at 6450 rpm. The engine has been custom built specially for this truck. To maximise the power, it gets a 3D printed air intake. The monstrous engine is mated to state of the art all-wheel drive transmission. The engine gets a liquid cooling both at the front as well as at the rear with two big fans. The engine stretches to half of the cockpit due to its huge size. The instant delivery of torque at just 6450 rpm allows the truck to burn the rubber like anything.

Hoonitruck suspension & interior

For better ride handling and control, the Hoonitruck comes with a custom ST/KW suspension with a 6 piston bull woods disc. To do all those crazy donuts and drifting, the truck is fitted with a massive 20×10.5, 5×120 PCD, -48 offset size wheels and Toyo tyres of size 315/35R20. With just 72 inches in width, it is too slim for trailers. Hence the truck was designed to be disassembled so that it can be taken to different filming locations. This also helps to make repairs easier during the heavy drifting.

In the cockpit setup, it gets a functional and purposeful dashboard with bare minimal functions. Don’t expect it to get luxurious features but yeah it does gets all that is needed. The cabin has been designed for easy repairs in middle of filming. The sporty seats are designed to take out easily for any repairs.

Hoonitruck in China

Ken Block took the Hoonitruck to China’s most dangerous road “Tianmen Mountain”. Ken performed a hill climb on this mountainous road with heavy drifting at fast speeds. The Hoonitruck went on to appear for Gymkhana 10 and few more shows making it a talk of town. The Climbkhana_Two has garnered over 23 million views on youtube.
