Why Electric Scooter caught fire?

Electric scooter catching fire is not new since they contain huge battery packs. Often poor quality of lithium ion batteries and sometimes poor battery management system leads to these problems. OLA S1 Pro is also no exception to this problem. We recently published a comparison article of S1 Pro and Ather 450x. We clearly highlighted that S1 Pro has thermal issues and sometimes it gets stall if battery gets heated beyond limits.

OLA S1 Pro thermal issues

There are numerous review videos on internet where S1 Pro get heated and stalls abruptly. And these issues are common across all the S1 Pro delivered across India. Given, that summer has come it would be interesting to see how S1 pro battery works. We can expect few more such instances since peak of summer is yet to reach. There could be more issues in the densely populated places such Mumbai, Delhi and Hyderabad.

With S1 Pro having issues, the only sensible choice as of now should be Ather 450x. It has not yet reported any battery issues and it has better battery management system as compared to S1 Pro.
