Mahindra XUV300 was launched in Feb, 2019 and like any other Mahindra vehicles, it became an instant hit. The compact SUV soon captured the Indian market and the company sold more than 2000 units per month. The compact SUV comes with features which are first in segment and carries a high safety rating. The company has now updated the XUV300 with BS6 compliant emission norms.

Mahindra XUV300 Exterior

The XUV300 gets a typical old school SUV design. Mahindra’s signature chrome grille at the front and LED DRLs with projector setup headlamps. The lower chrome grille on the bumper along with black treatment gives it a distinct look. The hood is flat, providing a commanding view to the driver and helps to locate blind spots easily. The R17 inch Diamond Cut Alloy wheels, body colored ORVMs on the side and black fenders at the bottom elevates the overall look of this compact SUV.

Mahindra also offers dual tone paint scheme on selected variants. The rear has been kept quite simple with LED taillamps and Mahindra embossing. At the top, the SUV gets a roof rail giving it a sporty look and feel.

Mahindra XUV300 Interior

Mahindra cars are known for first in class features and comfort. The XUV300 is loaded with plenty of features and technology. The SUV gets a dual tone beige interior with leather wrapped Steering and Gear knob. The 17.78 touchscreen infotainment system supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and comes with GPS navigation. For the convenience, the SUV comes with Heated ORVMs, Push Start/Stop Button, Powered Windows, Tyre Position Display, USB Charging Port, Light sensing Headlamps, Passive Key Entry and Central Locking. The Steering mounted controls, Cruise Control and Semi Digital Instrument Cluster enhances the overall ergonomics of this SUV.

For the comfort, XUV300 gets a Dual zone Automatic Climate Control, Electric Sunroof, Centre armrest both at the front as well as in the rear. The Seats are quite comfortable and 2nd row comes with flat floor giving an ample space for 3 passengers. The rear seats get a 60:40 split thus increasing the boot space to a great extent. The features of XUV300 differ based on the variant. The Driver gets a height adjustable seat and Tilt & Telescopic Steering makes it suitable for tall as well as short customers.

Mahindra XUV300 Safety Features

Mahindra has established itself in producing one of the safest vehicles in the Indian market and XUV300 is no exception. The compact SUV comes with a whooping 7 Airbags in the higher variant which is first in the segment, whereas lower variant continue to get standard Driver and Front Passenger Airbags. It comes with a standard ABS with EBD, Corner Braking Control, ISOFIX Child Seat Anchors, Immobilizer, Speed Sensing Door Lock and Impact Sensing Door Unlock.

The Front/Rear Parking Sensors along with Reverse Parking Camera helps you locate blind spots and provide more convenience to the Driver. The compact SUV gets all 4 Disc brakes, which is first in the segment and Hill Start Assist (HSA) & Electronic Stability Program prevent any unfortunate accidents. The XUV300 scored a 5 star rating for adult safety and 4 star rating for child safety at Global NCAP crash test making it one of the safest SUV in the segment.

 

Mahindra XUV300 Engine Specifications

Mahindra XUV300 is available in Petrol as well as Diesel option. Both the engines are BS6 compliant and more refined than before.

  1. 1.2L, 3 cylinder, 1197 cc, Petrol engine producing a power of 110 PS @ 5000 rpm and a torque of 200 Nm @ 2000-3500 rpm. The engine is mounted to 6-Speed Manual transmission and has a mileage of 17 kmpl. As of now there is no Automatic on offer.
  2. 1.5 L, 4 cylinder, 1497 cc naturally aspirated Diesel engine producing a power of 120 PS @ 3750 rpm and a torque of 1500-2500 rpm. It comes with a both 6-Speed Manual as well as Automatic Transmission and has a mileage of 20 kmpl.

The XUV300 has a fuel capacity of 42 litres, giving you a range of over 650+ kms on a single full tank. It has a top speed of 160 kmph.

Mahindra XUV300 Chassis, Suspension & Brakes

For better ride quality and comfort, XUV300 is equipped with MacPherson Strut with anti-roll bar the front and Twist beam with Coil Spring at the rear. The ABS with EBD and 4 Disc brakes prevent skidding and gives enough confidence to the Driver. The compact SUV gets R17/R18 Alloy wheels based on the variant and comes with a Tubeless tyres. The Tyre-Tronics and Tyre Position Display helps to tackle any rough surface quite easily.

Mahindra XUV300 BS6 Price & Variants

Mahindra offers XUV300 BS6 in both Petrol as well as Diesel options. The price for the base variant starts from INR 8.30 lakh and goes up to 12.69 lakh ex showroom. In the segment, XUV300 competes with Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza and Tata Nexon.
