TVS XL100 is one of the most popular Luna in the rural areas in India. The company has updated the XL100 with BS6 emission norms. The BS6 compliant variant gets more refined engine and features.
TVS XL100 BS6 Design & Features
The XL100 BS6 is a significant upgrade from its predecessor. The simple design with attractive color schemes look more modest. The TVS offers the bike in 3 variants with XL100 being basic and XL100 comfort is a top variant. The bike comes with regular halogen headlamps with LED DRLs at front and tail light with bulb type indicators at the rear. It gets a flat bed in the centre for any payload also hinges in the rear for packing. The design of the bike is kept more functional and practical given that it sold mostly in rural areas.
In terms of features, the bike gets an Engine kill switch, USB Charger, Onboard Diagnostic indicator, stylish chrome and removable rear seat for any extra payload. The i-touch silent start technology is 30% more efficient than previous versions.
TVS XL100 BS6 Engine Specifications
The new XL100 BS6 is powered by 99.7 cc Single Cylinder Petrol engine producing a power of 4.3 PS and a torque of 6.5 Nm. This new engine is 15% more fuel efficient and has improved power pickup. The engine is mated to a single speed gearbox has a mileage of 80 kmpl. The fuel capacity happens to be 4 litres which gives you 300+ km of overall range on a single fuel tank. The XL100 has a top speed of 60 kmph which is good enough for rural areas.
TVS XL100 BS6 Suspension & Brakes
For the ride and comfort, the Luna is equipped with Telescopic spring suspension at the front and Hydraulics at the rear. The seat height of just 780 mm and upright seating position provides a great convenience and comfort to the rider. In terms of braking, the bike comes with traditional 110 mm diameter drum brakes and gets a Synchronized Braking Technology (SBS) which provides optimize braking performance. The tyre size happens to be 2.5×16 41L 6PR and comes with tube type tyres.
