Maruti Suzuki Alto BS6

Alto gets a dual tone black interior with Vinyl upholstery in base variant, whereas vinyl and fabric upholstery in higher variants. Though Maruti Suzuki offers plenty of features, however in case of Alto, there is a lot of variation in features based on the model. In the higher variants, you get 17.78 cm touchscreen infotainment system, Power steering, Central locking and Remote less key feature. The instrument cluster is of analog type and gets a digital clock.

The base variant misses out on Air conditioner which is kind of disappointing. The car is quite compact and has less space compared to its rival Renault KWID however, it edges over in other departments.

One of the reasons why Alto sells in numbers is because of engine options. The company offers Petrol as well Petro/CNG engine option which is pocket friendly to its middle class customers. Alto BS6 comes with two engine options.

1. The 796 cc, 3 cylinder Petrol engine which produces a power of 48 PS @ 6000 rpm and torque of 69 Nm @ 3500 rpm.
2. 796 cc, 3 cylinder Petrol/CNG engine. The Petrol engine figures are similar to the 1st point, however the CNG mode produces 41 PS @ 6000 rpm and torque of 60 Nm @ 3500 rpm.

Both engines come with 5-speed Manual transmission and misses out on Automatic. Alto BS6 has a mileage of 22.5 (Petrol) and 31.59 (CNG) kmpl which is quite outstanding. The car comes with 12 inch tubeless tyres and gets Disc brake in front and Drum types on the rear. The company fitted CNG engine is one of the reasons why Alto sells more than any other vehicle in its segment.
