Mahindra Thar expected to launch in August

Mahindra Thar 2020 has been testing new second generation Thar rigorously for quite a year now. Throughout this year it has been spotted with camouflage across the country on various terrains. Earlier as reported in our Mahindra Thar 2020 post, it was expected to launch somewhere in December this year. However, if rumors are to be believed then it might be launched in August, 2020 itself.

The second generation Thar is definitely more muscular and bold. It gets LED headlamps along with new revised bumper, fitted with fog lamps. The signature 7 slot grille looks spectacular and makes it look quite appealing. It also gets factory fitted hardtop which looks solid and better than the soft top. At the rear it gets LED tail lights and a spare wheel mounted on the rear tailgate. It also gets new black alloy wheels which gives it more muscular and massive road presence.

The second generation Mahindra Thar 2020 interior has been revamped completely. It is no longer a so called `off roader` oriented. As per spy shots, New Thar is expected to come with infotainment system, powerful AC, powered windows, Rear Parking sensors and Rear Parking Camera. Mahindra this time has focused ergonomics to occupy the urban area market cap. It would be interesting to see when it gets launched.

The second generation Mahindra Thar 2020 will be BS6 compliant which means it is bound get more safety features than before. It is expected to get Dual Airbags and ABS with EBD and Rear Parking Sensors as standard.

New Mahindra Thar is expected to get 2.2 litre Diesel engine producing 140 PS of power. It is not yet confirmed if it will receive any Petrol engine options. The new engine is likely to provide more power and torque, making it comfortable to drive on all terrains.

Mahindra Thar has always been favorite among off road enthusiast. It is very popular in rural as well as urban areas. It is a very capable machine and gives commanding riding position to the Driver. August could be a good point of time to launch this vehicle because there would be a rainy season. Mahindra can use this opportunity to showcase all its abilities in this rainy season. However, amid Covid-19 nothing can be guaranteed. Its better to wait for official announcements from Mahindra.
