Tesla to leave CA

Amid covid-19 where the whole world is in lockdown, it has affected the Auto industry quite a lot. Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk, who is quite active on Twitter recently said “Tesla will now move its HQ and future programs to Texas/Nevada immediately. If we even retain Fremont manufacturing activity at all, it will be dependent on how Tesla is treated in the future. Tesla is the last carmaker left in CA.” Governor of California has asked manufacturers to reopen from Thursday.

Indian Auto Manufacturers launch Online Booking

Auto Manufacturers in Indian have been facing losses due to Covid-19 lockdown. Maruti Suzuki recently reported zero sales for the first time. Owing to lock down, many companies have now launched online booking portal. Honda, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, BMW and Skoda have launched an online booking portal to continue with the sales. 

Maruti Suzuki has reopened 600 dealership network across India. Customers can order the car online and it will be delivered at their doorstep.

Indian Government Hikes excise duty on Petrol and Diesel

Indian Government recently hiked taxes on Petrol by 10 per litre and on Diesel by 13 per litre. Government collects good amount of money through taxes, however, it was affecetd due to recent lock down. The retail prices will remain unchanged. The increased taxes will allow government to earn 1.6 lakh crore more.
