Bajaj has been updating its product line up with BS6 norms. Among this recently Bajaj launched its BS6 compliant Platina 100. More than a decade old product, Platina is one of the most successful bike in the 100cc segment. The new Bajaj Platina BS6 gets some new features along with BS6 compliant engine. 

Design

Bajaj Platina BS6 gets new sporty graphics and alloy wheels. It also gets new DRL, big front suspension and rubber footpads for the pillion. The new ‘Spring Soft’ seat absorbs jerks from the bottom of the seat, giving you a comfortable ride on rough surface. The tall handle bar and upright seating position enhances ergonomics makes it more practical for daily commute.

Specifications

At the front Platina 100 gets a hydraulic Telescopic suspension with 135mm of travel whereas at the rear it gets 110mm travel Spring-N-Spring (SNS) suspension. It comes with traditional halogen headlamp with a DRL, bulb type indicators and tail light. Both front and rear gets a alloy wheels and comes with tyre size of  2.75×17, 41 and for the rear its 3.0×17,50 tube type. The new Platina continues to get traditional drum brakes both at the front as well as rear.

Bajaj Platina 100 BS6 now gets 4 stroke, single cylinder 102cc engine producing 7.9 PS @ 7500 rpm and torque of 8.34 Nm @ 5500 rpm. The engine is paired with 4-speed manual transmission. It gets a Electronic injection system which is a better and cost effective compared to the traditional carburetor as per Bajaj.

The new Platina 100 gets Kick Start as well as Electronic Start based on the variant ,however, Electronic start as standard across all variants could have been better.

Bajaj Platina BS6 comes with two variants. The price for Bajaj Platina Kick Start (KS) starts at 47.265 and for variant Bajaj Platina Electric Start (ES) starts at 54,797 ex showroom.
