Maruti Suzuki Swift BS6
Maruti Suzuki Swift was launched in 2004 and right from day one it has been one of the top selling products in the Indian Market. The company has sold more than 20 lakh units till date and sells 15k units per month on an average. Swift is one of the best looking hatchback in the market. More than decade old, Swift has received timely upgrades and now it is BS6 compliant. The new Maruti Suzuki Swift BS6 is more safe than before and now gets a BS6 compliant engine.
Exterior
Swift was one of the country’s first good looking hatchback and immediately acquired the market share with its evolutionary design. The new Swift BS6 gets projected headlamps with LED DRLs and fog lamps. The big Black grille with body colored bumpers looks appealing. It also gets body colored Electrically adjustable ORVM (based on the variant) with indicator lights and Dual tone alloy wheels. At the rear it gets LED combination taillights with Reverse Parking Sensors. Overall the car looks stunning and more sportier.

Interior
The interior gets a black treatment and comes with center armrest at front. The Dashboard comes with a 7-inch infotainment system with Smart Play Studio app which supports both Android Auto and Apple Car Play. Voice command with live traffic updates and steering mounted controls allows convenience for the driver. It also gets Automatic headlamps. Automatic Climate Control, Powered windows and Power & Tilt steering.
Keyless entry, Start/Stop button and Rear Defogger are some of premium features available in higher variants. The boot space is 268 liters which can be further increased by 60:40 split. Height Adjustable Driver seats and Driver side foot rest provide more comfort to the Driver.
Safety and Specifications
Swift BS6 is now more safe than before. It now comes with Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD, Reverse Parking Sensors and ISOFIX with Child Seat Anchorages as standard. Reverse Parking Camera and Speed sensitive door lock features are also offered in selected variants. Maruti Suzuki Swift has got a 2-star rating from Global NCAP for safety.
Maruti Suzuki Swift BS6 comes with 1.2 L 1197cc 4 cylinder Petrol engine which produces 61 kW @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 4200 rpm. This engine comes with 5-speed Manual as well as 5-speed Automatic transmissions. The fuel capacity is 37 Litres and fuel efficiency is 21.21 KMPL (MT/AMT).

Maruti Suzuki offers plenty of variants with premium features. The price for base variant starts at 5.19 lakh and goes upto to 8.02 lakh ex showroom.

Review
The new Swift BS6 is one of the best looking hatchback in the market. It has good mileage and offers a good amount of features than its competitors. With more than 20 lakh units sold in India, it is quite popular in the Indian market. Maruti Suzuki also has better Sales and Service network across India and hence its cars tend to have good resale value. It’s a good value for money car and is fun to drive.
However, there are couple of things which Swift misses out.
- Swift is offered only in Petrol and Diesel variant has been discontinued.
- Maruti Suzuki Swift scored only 2-star rating at Global NCAP for safety compared to its competitor Volkswagen Polo getting 4-star.
