Exterior
The new i20 BS6 gets a premium styling which looks striking and gives good road presence. It gets new revised big cascade design grille along with Hyundai logo at the center. The projector headlamps along with LED DRLs are enough to light up the road at night, whereas fog lamps provide much needed visibility in winter. The body colored Bumpers, Doors and ORVMs make it look more premium. The black treatment at the C-pillar and Diamond cut alloy wheels gives it sporty and muscular look. At the rear it gets traditional tail lights along with rear defogger and roof antenna. The i20 looks more compact and compose than before.
Interior
The hatchback gets a dual tone interior with black finished dashboard. The 17.77 cm touchscreen infotainment system keeps you occupied and comes with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay with Autolink (Connected Car Feature). The cabin is quite premium and gets comfortable seats along with a centre armrest at the front and rear. The hatchback is equipped with features like Automatic Climate Control, Semi Digital Instrument Cluster, Voice Recognition, Wireless Charging Pad and Cooled Glovebox. It also gets Tilt Power Steering, Push Start/Stop button and Driver adjustable seats, however, misses out on Cruise Control which could have given an edge over its competitor Baleno.
In terms of comfort and convenience it comes with Rear AC Vents, Power windows, 12V Charging outlet and Electrically adjustable ORVMs. The Autolink feature helps to stay connected with your car with Mobile App and provides vital updates like Vehicle Health, Navigation and Driving patterns. Needless to say, this hatchback is rich in comfort and features.
Safety
Hyundai has made i20 more secure and safe. It now gets some of the standard safety features like Dual Airbags at the front and ABS with EBD, Reverse Parking Sensors, Central Locking, Engine Immobiliser and Auto Door Lock. The Reverse Parking Camera and Smart Key are available only in Sportz+ and Asta (O) variant.
In terms of brakes, it is equipped with Disc at front and traditional Drum brakes at rear. The top variant gets some more safety features like Side & Curtain Airbags, ISOFIX child seats and Automatic Headlamps.
Specifications
The hot hatchback gets a 4 cylinder, 1197 cc BS6 compliant engine producing a power of 83 PS @ 6000 rpm and a torque of 11.6 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to the 5-Speed Manual transmission, however, there is no Automatic option which is disappointing.
It has a fuel capacity of 40 litres and a mileage of 19-22 kmpl. The Elite i20 BS6 is offered only in Petrol unit.
