Kerala Police Department has bought a whooping 44 Force Gurkha’s to strengthen its presence across its vast mountainous region. Kerala is known for its vast forest with western ghats and rivers. At times it becomes very difficult to reach those places during heavy floods and tough terrain. Force Gurkha is known for its off roading capability. Gurkha is rare breed in India which is offered with 4×4 as standard. Given the capability of Gurkha, it makes a perfect choice for Police who have to deal with such places.
During rainy season the factory fitted snorkel and water wading capacity of 700 mm which is very helpful in flood prone areas. Gurkha is an ideal vehicle for such situations.
Force Gurkha specifications
Force Gurkha is powered by 2.6 litre sourced by Mercedes which produces 90 hp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with 5 speed manual transmission with power transferred to all 4 wheels. Gurkha is also equipped with 7 inch infotainment screen which supports both Android Auto and Apple Carplay.
On the safety front, it gets dual front air bags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors as standard.
