Hero Xtreme 160R BS6 Launched

Hero XTreme 160R BS6

The highly anticipated BS6 compliant Hero XTreme 160R has been launched. The bike is quite famous among daily commuters in urban as well as rural areas. Given the Bajaj and TVS Apache had already launched their BS6 compliant 160cc bikes, it was expected from Hero to update XTreme 160R with BS6 norms.

XTreme 160R Design & Features

Hero has launched BS6 compliant a bit late as compared to Pulsar NS160 and Apache RTR 160 4V however, when you look at design and the new set of features, the wait time is quite justified. The naked street bike XTreme 160R gets an aggressive and bold stance at the front. The color scheme and graphics nicely blend with the 12 litres tank. The compact sporty exhaust along with thoughtfully integrated pillion grab handle reduce space and keep the bike sleek and lightweight.

The uniquely designed Droid LED Headlamps and Winkers at the front with a big suspension setup which gives it a muscular stance. The Digital Instrument Cluster comes with an LCD inverter display, which displays all the necessary information. Keeping the tourers in mind, this bike is equipped with hazard lights and for better fuel economy, it gets Side Stand Engine Cutoff feature.

XTreme 160R Engine Specifications

XTreme 160R is powered by 4-stroke, Single Cylinder, 163cc engine producing a power of 15 PS @ 8500 rpm and torque of 14 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The engine is air cooled and comes with Hero’s flagship Programmed Fuel Injection system. Officially, Hero has not confirmed the mileage, however we expect it to be anywhere between 45 – 50 kmpl.

The bike is ultra light, weighing just over 138 kg and does 0-60 kmph in just 4.7 sec. Compared to Pulsar NS160, XTreme 160R is more than 12 kgs lighter. This allows the rider to maneuver in traffic with ease and increases practicality. The fuel capacity happens to be 12 litres which is similar to Apache RTR 160 4V and Pulsar NS160.
