Touring segment in India has seen a rapid growth over the years. Many companies have launched affordable Adventure Tourer bikes and Hero Motorcorp is one of them. The Xpulse 200 is the company’s official entry into an affordable touring segment in India. It was introduced on 1st of May in 2019 and it competes with the likes of Royal Enfield HimalayanBajaj Dominar 400 & Dominar 250. The company has now updated the Xpulse 200 with BS6 emission norms.

Xpulse 200 BS6 Design & Features

Xpulse 200 is a dual purpose designed motorcycle. It can be used for city driving as well as for weekend adventures. The bike gets a classic design with round LED tail lights at the front and plastic knuckle guards for protection. The slim design with narrow seat and 220 mm ground clearance makes it an ideal bike for adventure touring. The company has kept the styling minimal and is more functional oriented.

Xpulse 200 comes with a first in segment fully digital speedometer with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. It helps the rider to answer calls, messages and provides turn-by-turn navigation. The upright seating position, wide handlebars, big wheels and long front fender make it suitable for city as well as off-road driving.

Xpulse 200 BS6 Engine Specifications

Xpulse 200 is powered by BS6 compliant Oil cooled, Single Cylinder 199.6 cc, Petrol engine producing a power of 17.8 ps @ 8500 rpm and torque of 16.45 Nm @ 6500 rpm. It is paired with 5-speed Manual gearbox and comes with Advanced Programmed Fuel Injection technology.

Weighing over just 150 kg it is one of the most lightweight Adventure Tourer motorcycle in the segment. The 13 litres of fuel tank with mileage of 42 kmpl gives you a decent range of over 400+ kms. Xpulse 200 has a top speed of 115 kmph.

Xpulse 200 BS6 Suspension & Brakes

Being an Adventure Tourer bike, Xpulse 200 has one of the best suspension setup in the segment. It gets a 190 mm front suspension, whereas 10-step adjustable monoshock at the rear which allows you tackle any terrain with ease. The thoughtfully designed up-swept exhaust allows to wade through water and aluminium bash plate ensures that engine is always protected.

In terms of Braking, Xpulse 200 comes with a Single Channel ABS and 276 mm Disc at the front and 220 mm Disc at the rear.

Hero Xpulse 200 BS6 Rally Kit

Hero offers a rally kit with an extra cost of INR 38,000. The rally kit includes Maxxis Rally Tyre Kit for off-road terrains, Rally Suspension Kit, Handlebar Risers, Flat Taller Bench style seat, Extended Gear Pedal and Extra long side stand.

The Rally Kit also increases the ground clearance up to 275 mm which allows it to tackle different types of terrains with ease.

Hero Xpulse 200 BS6 Price

Hero Offers Xpulse in a single variant and it is priced at INR 1,11,790 ex showroom Delhi. The company also offers an optional rally kit which costs an additional INR 38,000 for Adventure Enthusiast. Given the price and features it offers, it is one of the most affordable entry level adventure bike. To put in a perspective, it is at least INR 38,000 lesser than its closest rival.
